CELLO WORKSHOPS
The International Cello Workshops organised by OlgaPoint are open for children and adults. All levels and ages are welcome. In 2025 I offer the following workshops:

The Workshop Cello Adult requires to play (a little) first position or more. Beginners as well as advanced cellists are welcome to join. During the workshops I will teach you at your own level and help you advance as much as possible. We will play one or two pieces as a whole group and if you like to form smaller groups on the spot, I have plenty of cello ensemble music available on different levels, varying from two to six cellists and don't hesitate to bring your own music. Don't worry if you are not used to play together. I will teach you how to do this and how to practice together.
We start the day at 9.30 am with a technical warming-up, followed by the pieces we play as a group. In the afternoon I will give individual lessons.
To prepare the scores for the pieces we play together, I need to know your level. You can simply let me know which books you are working in and in addition, if you like, you can send me a recording, but this is not compulsory. I advise you to bring your own cello. But if this is not possible, cello's are available.
The Workshop Cello From Scratch is for absolute beginners. You don't have to know anything about music. You just pack your suitcase, travel to the south of France and I will take it from there and organise and facilitate everything you need for your first 'Cello-Experience'. There is one for adults only and one for adult with child, where you can have a great (first) musical experience together with your child(ren). Starting on Wednesday I will welcome you between 5 and 7 pm to check in. The next day we will start the day all together after breakfast at 10 am and then have lunch between 12 and 2 pm. In the afternoon there is time for private lessons with you and your child. There will also be a session with only adults and only children. You will have enough free time to visit the beautiful surroundings, relax and unwind.
The OlgaPoint Personalized Workshop Cello is a private tailor-made workshop with friends and/or family. Provide me your wishes and then we decide the length and dates of the workshop together. After that you can give me carte blanche or we can create the program together. We can also incorporate as many trips as you like. There are a lot of possibilities in the region. practical information
Access
Laroque-des-Albères is situated at the foot of the Pyrenees in a major tourist destination at the Mediterranean Sea (15 minutes). It is close to the airports of Perpignan (Ryanair) and Girona (Transavia). From Girona you can rent a car or take the train (40 minutes) to Perpignan. From Barcelona, Montpellier or Toulouse Perpignan it is easily accessible by train (TGV). In Perpignan you can take the bus to Laroque or rent a car (30 minutes).
Accommodation
Mas du Vivier is a beautiful old Mas on the outskirts of Laroque-des-Albères. It's only a 3 minute walk to the village centre with its bakery, shops and (nine!) restaurants. In the spacious garden you will find a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. There are five air-conditioned rooms each provided with a bathroom ensuite. One of the rooms can be shared with max four people, one with max three people and three bedrooms are individual rooms with double beds. For an additional charge you can bring your partner with you. It is up to you to benefit from the on-site accommodation or to make your own reservation in another accommodation in Laroque. The advantages of on-site accommodation are the price and you can study the cello in your room from morning till evening. Click on the link for a video of the Mas.
Fees
The total fee for the workshops 'Adults' and 'Woman 50+ Special' including full accommodation, four times breakfast and lunch, free coffee, tea and water and all the cello-lessons and groups-sessions during the workshop is: €1400 (single room), €1190 (double room), €1090 (triple room), €990 (quadruple room). The total fee for these workshops without accommodation & food is €700. There are many bed & breakfasts in Laroque des Albères and surroundings. Check with your host if you can practice there.
The total fee for the workshops 'From Scratch' including full accommodation, three times breakfast and lunch, free coffee, tea, water and cordial and all the cello-lessons and groups-sessions during the workshop is: €950 (single room), €760 (double room), €690 (triple room), €640 (quadruple room). The total fee for the workshops 'From Scratch' without accommodation & food is €420.
Food
Breakfast and lunch are included on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. In the evenings you can choose to go out for dinner in one of the many restaurants in Laroque or make dinner yourself (maybe together) in the spacious fully equipped kitchen.
Instruments
I have a limited number of cello's available for you to use for only €75/workshop. These are study cello's. Please indicate at registration if you want to use this option. Most participants like to bring their own cello.
Programme
For the workshops Adults and Woman 50+ I will welcome you on Saturday between 5 and 7 pm to check in. From 7 pm the local restaurants are open, where you can enjoy a delicious dinner. On Sunday and Wednesday I provide individual cello lessons to all the participants starting at 9.30 am. On the other days there will be a group session each morning with all the cellists and the rest of the day I will teach individual or in small groups. You will have free time to visit the surroundings. Depending on your scheduled cello lessons you could decide to go on a trip. It is a beautiful area and there's a lot to see (see holiday homes for more information).
Registration & Payment
You can register until one month before the workshop starts by filling in the contact form and by mentioning the workshop you want to join. As soon as I receive your message, I will send you all the information you need. A €250 euro non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot (deposit workshop 'From scratch' is €150). One month before the workshop the full amount has to be paid and will not be refundable after that. Participation will be limited to 10 students. Please try to get your application in as soon as possible to secure your spot.
CELLO LESSONS
I also offer private online cello lessons. You might be interested to take them before and/or after the cello workshop.
In the month before the workshop of your choice we can prepare the group scores together online in advance and if you want to continue with online cello lessons after the cello workshop than you're most welcome to do so. You can book the individual online lessons all year through.
